ISACA Journal, 2021
ART DIRECTION, DESIGN, ANIMATION, COPYWRITING
Background
ISACA is a global non-profit organization for information governance, control, security and audit professionals. Published six times a year, the ISACA Journal contains peer-reviewed, in-depth articles on pressing industry topics.
Each year, I work with the ISACA Journal editors to art-direct a series of covers that relate to each issue's underlying theme — in 2021, we chose to create covers with abstract, 3D rendered scenes that allude to the core idea without being too literal or too "techy."
The solution
The new logo is clean and simple, built on the combination of "community" (a heart) and "health" (a medical cross). Bold, simple typography balances the icon, and is easy to read at a variety of sizes.
The brand is designed to speak to everyone. It utilizes clear, easy-to-read typography, a warm and inviting color palette and a suite of icons developed to aid in literacy at all levels and across languages.
In addition to creating the cover for each issue, I also wrote and animated two content-marketing focused banner ads that are placed on each Volume's page on ISACA.org.
The animations are created to drive click-through engagement to individual articles by industry professionals, rather than a general audience.
